R. Chesson, born and raised in Williamston, N.C., was educated
at The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, earning a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1977. In 1979, He
joined D.G. Manning Construction Company as superintendent. He
founded A. R. Chesson Construction Company, Inc. in 1981 to build
residential and commercial buildings. In 1996, the company shifted
its focus entirely to commercial and industrial buildings with its
primary market area in northeastern North Carolina.
As President, Mr. Chesson has established A. R. Chesson Construction
Company as a leader in the region in design/build construction,
project management and development services for new construction,
renovations and expansions, from offices in Williamston, Edenton,
Elizabeth City, Manteo, and Chesapeake, VA. Projects include
industrial buildings, medical offices, multi-family dwellings,
schools and recreational, retail and ecclesiastical facilities.
